This project was originally conceived while interpreting the theme of Water and Oil for the 2010 American Diversity Project. Using the Fox River as a subject, the images are a response to a commercialized, industrialized but still sometimes untouched landscape that lies at the edge of suburbia. The intent was to start with an image that the river gave me as I rode my bike for miles along its' shore, and then using products derived from water and oil, to lose control of the final image. This project is ongoing. Peter Hoffman |
