These images are long exposure documentations of dioramas and full-scale installations that I build on-site in specific landscapes.  I approach my work through both a photographic and theatrical sensibility.  Intermingling issues of contemporary painting, cinema and land art, I create surreal photographic documentations of installations that are a cross-pollination between static and performing art.  I explore the use of light and installation to abstract form and context within traditional landscape imagery.   Appearing as intrusions and interventions within the landscape, these photographs explore issues of illusion, imagination, narrative, and the potential of the ordinary are transformed into the extraordinary through light and composition.  The use of light and color are subjective tools that transform the perception of space and defamiliarize common objects.  By constructing installations through forms of light, the work transforms the ordinary into the hyper-real, a banal landscape into a singular sensation.
